CBT 25th November 2007                                     500cc Test 15th January 2008

Hi Kev

Just thought I'd send you an email to say thanks very much for all your help and advice over the few days
I was training with you and Geoff for the CBT and direct access scheme. Seems amazing that it only took six days
considering I've never ridden a bike before the day that I turned up for the CBT. I'd also like to thank Jo
for the advice she gave me when I first rang up FMT to ask how I could go about getting a licence in the first
place.

I'd also like to say a big thanks for all the help and advice you have given me with my own bike since I finished training
with you. It has been a very massive help to me since I have not owned one before and really didn't have clue.

Thanks for all your efforts and genuine interest. I would recommend you and your company to anyone and if you do get
anyone who isn't convinced to book feel free to get them to ring me if you think it would do any good I really cant praise
you all enough.

All being well I'll be looking to book some advanced training over this summer - autumn and look forward to seeing you all again.

CBT 28th January 2007                      500cc Test 10th April 2007

Hi Jo and Kev,

I felt I must write to sincerely thank you both, particularly Jo, for helping and supporting me through both my CBT and DAS course’s.

It has been less than 24 hours since I passed my test, and it is only starting to sink in. I have been reflecting on how I have managed to successfully pass my test, when, only days earlier, I hadn’t ridden a bike for any length of time for over 25 years!

I cannot, and will not take any of the credit. I flourished under the expert and enthusiastic guidance of Jo. Someone who has a fantastic ability to impart detail in such a way that it is easily understood, absorbed and retained.

I really couldn’t have chosen a better, more professional and committed company to help me with my needs, whilst at the same time, shared my ethos of ‘let’s work hard, yet enjoy it at the same time’.

For personal reasons, it was very important for me to achieve my goal of having a Bike Licence as early as possible, and with your guidance I have achieved that.

I will always recommend your company without any fear of disappointment, in fact, please do not hesitate to have me as a referee should any of your perspective new clients need some impartial opinion of your work.

I wish you both very best wishes for the future, and I for one, will miss the Sandwich and Drink at ‘Character Craig’s’ Wakefield 41 Lunch Stop.

Yours Most Gratefully

Just to say thank you for getting me through my test. I would also like to add that I thought both the standard of the equipment and the rider training was excellent. Once again thank you all at FMT.

CBT 1st April 2006                              500cc Test 11th April 2006

Hi Kev & Jo
Hope everything is well with you both and keeping the shiny side up.   It's taken me a while to get my car sold to fund the new bike but managed to get both done this week-end.  I will be taking delivery of a Fazer 1000 next week.  2003 plate with 2300 miles in silver.  Got it from Appleyards yesterday, It is mint….

Tell Jo I have not forgot to send thank you card, I have not been able to find an appropriate one.   I intend to take a photo of the bike and create a card of my own.

Once again thanks to you both especially Jo, she gave me the confidence to pass my test especially when I was feeling that it was all going wrong.

The lessons Jo taught me will be put into action as a take it  steady with the bike until I build up my experience again.   I will call round "The Rock" to show off my new prized possession as soon as I can.

All the very best wishes
Harry

CBT 28th May 2004                                500cc Test 4th October 2005

Thank you for enabling me to pass both CBT and DAS test, having never ridden a motorcycle before!

I am a police officer and work in training environment. I would like to say that the instruction, theory and practical, was of a very high standard.
That said, encouragement and guidance and 1 to 1 tuition, when required, was given in a manner that was friendly, helpful and informative, which left me in no doubt of what was expected.

Due to this approach to training I attained a good level of competence (which will improve through time and experience - Kev!) that will allow me ride safely. I would not hesitate in thoroughly recommending FMT to anyone who wants motorcycle training.

CBT 5th March 2005                                500cc Test 30th March 2005

Having had time to reflect since passing my bike test and testing out my new bike, I would like to thank you both for the first class training that I received at FMT.

When I decided to take up bike training a couple of months ago, I was recommended FMT and I look back now and know that I couldn't have chosen better.

From the CBT, through the direct access course, the attention to detail and professional training that FMT gave was absolutely superb. You were patient and so committed and the way you put points across to ensure that things were done correctly are a credit to you both.

Considering that I had never ridden a motorcycle up to 5 weeks ago, to having now passed my test and being able to ride with a full motorcycle licence, safely out on the road is down to my training with FMT and I would recommend you to anyone thinking of taking up motorcycle training and going in for their test.

Thank you for the whole experience and I now look forward to many happy days on my new bike.

I will be in touch shortly to book some advanced lessons!!

CBT 15th August 2004                                500cc Test 26th October 2004

I would just like to THANK YOU VERY MUCH for helping me through my CBT then DAS test. After not being on a bike for over 25 years I knew that I would need PROPER PROFESSIONAL TRAINING and that is what I got. I employ people myself and so I know how difficult it can be to get the message across but you did this very effectively not seeming to to make a fuss. What can I say "PROBABLY THE BEST RIDING SCHOOL IN YORKSHIRE". I think I have heard that some where before, its true.

Many thanks to both of you for getting me through my big bike test.  There were times when I thought I could not make the grade but your perseverance and skill at identifying what I was doing wrong and most important showing me how to get it right carried me through to a pass.

Once again many thanks for your skill and dedication.

I would just like to say many many thanks for your effort and patience. I thoroughly enjoyed the 4 days and didn't think the test was that bad. Maybe because I had been taught so well. I hope Lee is coming back to finish it off, If so, can you pass on my best wishes and just tell him " forget what your body says, just LISTEN TO KEV!"
Anyway must get back to the drudgery of work. All the best and thanks.

  CBT 27th July 2003                            500cc Test 22nd January 2004

It was with some trepidation that I made the choice to venture back on to two wheels, after 27years of car and wagon driving. My first choice of trainers was the right choice in FMT MOTORCYCLE TRAINING. From taking my CBT, to passing the direct access test on my first attempt .The firm but positive instruction, the encouragement when things didn't go quite the way you hoped! and to do all of this and still smile earns Kev, Jo, and all of the team at FMT the greatest respect, a big thanks from me. So much so that when my son turned sixteen and wanted his own bike I had no problem with him going on two wheels as long as I knew FMT would be the ones doing the CBT Training. So one email,  a phone call later my sons CBT booked. I went out and bought a Suzuki 600cc bandit for me ,and a 50cc Italjet dragster for him. Race ya!

  CBT 20th April 2002                        125cc Test 25th November 2003

Just a few words to say a very big THANK YOU for getting me through my CBT and 125cc test. I really don't think I have been through as many nerves and emotions in anything else I have trained for, without your skill, patience and communication I really don't think I would of done it (but what a feeling!!) the ride home after my test was amazing, when Kev signalled to go on to the M62 it was a bit of a shock to say the least but my cheeks were aching when we got back to Castleford because of the big silly grin I had on my face all the way back. I have already recommended you to various people some who I know have already been with you and have been successful in passing their test, I will carry on recommending you to anyone else who I know is interested in biking. So from a very satisfied customer MANY THANKS again. Best Wishes for future business.

  CBT 11th August 2003                        DAS Test 28th August 2003

After 20 years without touching a motorcycle I figured it would be daunting to attempt my test. Also the roads are much busier nowadays and safety was a concern.

FMT provided everything I needed including the bikes for hire.

CBT was first and Kev demonstrated a well-structured approach to attaining a required level of skill and safety before allowing us on the road, which was well controlled by bike-to-bike radio.

The DAS course took four days (With the test on the fourth day) we started out on the Honda 125cc bikes for the first day honing up our basic skills. The CBT may acknowledge that you can demonstrate basic skills but to consistently do it to a test standard requires practice as I found out…

The second day we started on the 500cc Honda bikes. What a difference! These are easier to ride than the 125cc Honda’s, I really started to feel comfortable after my initial nervousness.

The good bit is FMT’s approach to training; they ensure you have attained a good level of competence in each area before moving on to the next. After assessing my riding prior to the test we went back over any problematic areas and as I past my test first time I guess it worked!

Throughout the training I felt safe, Kev obviously has eyes in the back of his head, as he was able to warn us about hazards coming from any direction at the same time. His Army training experience translates well into this type of occupation I don’t think it could have been done better.

On the day of my test I sailed through - and hadn’t realised the level of competence I had attained during the training! The only problem is afterwards when your riding home down a country lane without Kev giving you hints over the radio about the best way to tackle a corner etc. – You will miss it!

CBT 5th July 2003                                   DAS Test 28th August 2003

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you on behalf of my wife on passing her CBT and myself on passing the direct access test, the training was marvelous. The training was in plain English or as Kev put it "Kev speak" and that was a big help to both of us. We  would recommend the course we have undertaken to anyone. Sue is looking forward to taking her test with you in the future. Once more a big thank you.

CBT 17th April 2003                              DAS Test 12th June 2003

I recently completed my CBT with FMT and was so impressed with the standard of training that I decided to take the three day direct access course followed by the motorcycle test. I can only describe the whole experience as total value for money . The training  myself and the other trainee were given was of the highest standard not only did it totally prepare us for our road tests which we both subsequently passed on the first attempt ( my fellow student was completely new to motorcycling) it also prepared us to take to the roads in an extremely safe manner I was taught many new riding  techniques which as made me a much better rider. I myself have been riding motorcycles since the age of four some thirty six years, fifteen of which I raced motor cross in the AMCA and I have learn ed more from Kev , Jo and Shaun in two weeks than the last thirty years. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all three of them for the welcoming , friendly , and most professional manner in which I was instructed . I would not and have not hesitated to recommend FMT to anyone looking for Motorcycle training.            Thank You,  Kev, Jo and Shaun

  CBT 23rd March 2003                        DAS Test 24th June 2003

To every one out there who is thinking of taking motorcycle lessons, my advice to you is go for it ASAP. (ITS ONLY GOING TO GET HARDER AND DEARER).
I booked my CBT and lessons through Kev and Jo at FMT after looking through the adverts in my local paper and getting recommendations from other people and certain bike shops in Castleford (as well as a discounts on goods !!!) for using FMT.
Having ridden bikes many years ago, I decided to go for it and do it properly and keep within the law, CBT booked I thought it would be a piece of cake and boring, boy was I wrong even though I drive cars etc it was un-believable how much I had forgot over the years and how much the bikes had come on.
An enjoyable day was had carrying out the CBT with male and female riders of all ages, decent bikes, and equipment with excellent instruction from Kev and Jo who are very knowledgeable on all aspects of riding and road safety (and fortunately still retain their sense of humour).
A 4 day course was booked on a 500cc bike (direct access) the training was excellent even though I failed my test the first time through stupid faults of my own, the bikes we used were first class and the radio communication between instructor / rider was good, crisp, clear and sometimes sarcastic (the battery must be dead Kev ,ha ha).
A second test was booked by myself for the back end of August (the only one available they told me at DSA) but FMT managed to get me in a lot sooner (thanks Kev) and this was duly passed.
Still buzzing from passing my test, the best bit was coming home on the M62, no L plates and a massive grin from ear to ear, now I ride a 900 Yamaha with great pleasure and more importantly SAFELY.
I would also like to mention Craig at the butty van at Wakefield, where we would stop for our dinner PLEASE CRAIG GET SOME BETTER BUNS IN
Thanks to Kev and Jo for all your help and support and good luck in the future, you are highly recommended
Terry - Featherstone.

CBT Other ATB                                       DAS Test 3rd April 2003

“Biking was somewhat of a latter-life adventure for me, my mid-life crisis say friends & relatives, but pursue the dream I did, and so began the ‘journey-of-learning’ towards obtaining my licence.   I work as a trainer in IT and am well-versed in modern training methods that promote the personal confidence & well-being of the trainee – how to get the best from people towards achievement of their personal goals.  FMT have this in abundance and I speak with some gratitude to Kev & Jo because initially my dream became a nightmare when I used another training organisation which projects BIG as being successful and GUARANTEES a ‘Pass’ but in practice operate as a ‘boot camp’ and damage the confidence of many trainees for whom the ‘goalposts’ of guarantee change as failure looms.  Some months later I found FMT and passed within 4 days.  FMT restored my confidence and most importantly they turned me into a safe and responsible rider; my dream came true – thanks Kev, I’d recommend you to anyone.”
